혼다의 경우 브레이크액, 미션액 그리고 파워액 과 디퍼오일 하이포이드 오일등은 꼭 순정을 권장한다. 다들 하는소리라고 하지만, 혼다의 경우 특히 오일이나 액체류에 매우 민감한다. 굳이 리스크를 가져갈 필요가 없다. 브레이크오일 사례를 살펴본다.

Brake fluid marked DOT 5 is not compatible with your vehicle's braking system and can cause extensive damage. If the specified brake fluid is not available, you should use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid from a sealed container as a temporary replacement. Using any non-Honda brake fluid can cause corrosion and decrease the longevity of the system. Have the brake system flushed and refilled with Honda Heavy Duty Brake Fluid DOT 3 as soon as possible. A cup seal in the master cylinder is sensitive to the type of brake fluid used in the brake system. If the brake fluid is replaced with anything other than Honda Genuine DOT 3 Brake Fluid, and the brakes are manually bled, the cup seal may twist in its retention groove and create a small leak. The brake fluid can then leak into the brake booster, and the brake system indicator will eventually come on because the brake fluid level is low. If the customer continues to drive the vehicle without refilling the brake fluid reservoir, he or she may notice the brake pedal feels low or spongy. The customer should not rely on refilling the brake fluid reservoir to address the problem. 마스터 실린더의 컵 씰은 브레이크 시스템에 사용되는 브레이크액의 유형에 민감합니다. 브레이크액을 Honda 순정 DOT 3 브레이크액이 아닌 다른 것으로 교체하고 브레이크를 수동으로 빼는 경우 컵 씰이 고정 홈에서 비틀려 약간의 누출이 발생할 수 있습니다. 그러면 브레이크 액이 브레이크 부스터로 누출될 수 있으며, 브레이크 액 수준이 낮기 때문에 결국 브레이크 시스템 표시기가 켜집니다. 고객이 브레이크액 저장소를 보충하지 않고 차량을 계속 운전하는 경우 브레이크 페달이 낮거나 푹신한 느낌을 받을 수 있습니다. 고객은 문제를 해결하기 위해 브레이크액 저장소를 다시 채우는 데에만 의존해서는 안 됩니다. 장기간 누출되면 결국 두 개의 브레이크 시스템 유압 회로 중 하나가 고장나게 됩니다.  Service Bulletin  #10-069, November 11, 2010
