How to check the engine oil level using the dip stick

First park the car on a flat spot, reach operating temperature, shut off the car and wait for 3~5 minutes and measure the oil level. Pull out the dip stick, wipe out and put the dip stick all the way down. And then pull out the dip stick and measure the oil level.
Watch out the rotating objects and the serpentine belt. For sensitive skin, wear the protective gloves.
Depending upon vehicle, the dip stick shape may be different but normally there are maximum and minimum level marks on the bottom of the dip stick. Please refer to your vehicle manual first. Some recent vehicles may not have the egine oil dip stick because the oil level sensor is used instead.
(2) Hyundai NF Sonata engine oil dip stick
This is one of the most typical engine oil dip stick. It has both dots meaning the maximum and the minimum engine oil level. Ensure the engine oil is in between the dots.-
(3) Mercedes Benz W212 engine oil dip stick
Of course not all Mercedes have the same engine oil dip stick and recent models have sensor based engine oil level monitoring. This is one of the many different engine oil dip sticks.-
