Check engine light (CEL) simply means that we should scan the engine, find out the diagnostic trouble code (DTC), and fix the issues. Generic OBD2 with Torque pro is good enough for most of engine diagnostic purpose.
As shown in this example, when you see the check engine light on your dashboard use your favorite OBD2 sanner to find out what caused the issues. OBD2 diagnosis will display the stored trouble codes, if there are any trouble codes stored in the ECM.
Depending upon the diagnostic trouble code proper repaire should be done. Please clear the diagnostic trouble code after the repair.
