Battery voltage after starting

Edit Date: Aug. 5, 2022, 7:52 a.m.

After starting, the alternator supplies electricity to the vehicle and charges the battery at the same time. Check if it is at least 13.5V or more and 15V or less. This is for 12V batteries only. However if equipped with IBS, voltage could drop below 13.0V.

Ensure to avoid battery electricity short.

  1. After starting, check if the voltage is within13.5V~15.0V ranges.
  2. The voltage should not exceed 15V with the RPM maintained at 2500 for more than 30 seconds.
  3. If it is below 13V, there is a high possibility of a problem with the battery and/or alternator.
  4. Voltage drop between battery posts and connectors should be less than 0.05V.
