Alternator voltage testing in idle state

After starting, the voltage of the alternator should be between 13.5V and 15.0V at least. If voltage is below 13V, ensure your alternator works in good shape.
Watch our the serpentine belt and other rotating objects. Ensure to avoid battery electricity short.
- Connect the positive probe of the digital multimeter (DMM) to the b+ terminal of the alternator.
- Connect the DMM minus probe to the alternator case.
- After start-up, the measured value should be between 13.5V and 15.0V at least.
