직분사 엔진차량에는 보통 연료펌프가 2개가 있다. 최근 차량의 보통 연료탱크내에 있는 저압펌프와 엔진룸에 있는 고압펌프이다. 연료필터부터 연료레귤레이터, 체크밸브, 레일압력, 인젝터 및 펌프등 다양한 부품이 다 정상작동되어야 한다. 가장 쉽게 파악하는 방법중 하나가 고압펌프 압력인데, ECM이 원하는 (Desired) 압력과 실제 압력(Actual)을 측정하는것이다.
