Battery voltage before starting

While driving, alternator charges the battery. Measure the battery voltage before starting the car. Ensure the voltage is at least 12.45V. This applies to 12V battery only.
Ensure to avoid battery electricity short.
- Before starting, set the digital multimeter (DMM) to 20 DCV.
- Connect the red probe of the DMM to the positive battery terminal and the black one to the negative terminal.
- Check if the measured value is 12.45V or higher. 12.45V is about 75% of a normal battery.
