Check the current ATF level and ensure the level is between the minimum and maximum lines. Make sure the engine is in operating temperature and shut off the car for 60 seconds before measuring the level.-

Lose the ATF drain plug using the 3/8" ratchet. The photo shows the 1/2" breaker bar with 3/8" adapter.-

Drain the ATF and measure how much is drained for statistical and refill purpose.-

Wipe out any metal parts from the ATF drain plug, put in new crush washer, and torque the drain plug with 49Nm. Please do put in the new crush washer and do NOT over tighten the drain plug. Then, using the brake cleaner, thoroughly clean the drain plug area.-

Clean the ATF drain plug area, put in new crush washer and torque the ATF drain plug to 49Nm.-

Put in new genuine Honda ATF fluid using the long funnel.-

Switch gears from P, N, D, R, S, etc. Pause 5 seconds for each gear switch and repeat the process three times.-

After first, second or the third drain of ATF check the ATF fluid level using the dip stick. Ensure that the level is between within the hatched lines. It is important that the engine runs in operating temperature, turn off the car, wait for 60 seconds and then measure the ATF level.-

Often rusted drain plugs could throw challenges in loosening the drain plug. Use brake cleaner or brush off the rust with the metal brush first. Stick in the 3/8" adapter, hammer the adapter lightly to penetrate into the hole. And then break loosen the drain plug first. If really wose, repeat tighten and loosen process a few times and then finally loosen the drain plug.-
